Notebook users don’t like big monitors

Recently I realized that by some reason don’t like big monitors. At my work we usually have 3 monitors. Usually one big about 32 inches and 2 monitors 20-24 inches. Also, we have few “roaming” spaces. These spaces for people who visiting our office for whatever reason. Usually people travel with notebooks and as result these places have all appropriate connectivity for notebooks. HDMI, Display port cables. Also, these places have wireless keyboard and mouse.

But I found that even people with Mac Book Air with 11-inch screen never use bigger monitors and I don’t understand why. I understand why they don’t use keyboard because it is Windows keyboard but why not use bigger screen specially when screen have 6 times more area than yours? At least connect to monitor and use it as second monitor so say you have your application that you are working with on screen of notebook and say your mail or say Skype on second screen. Initially I though that Mac Book Air does not have connectivity but later I saw that person showing something in meeting room on big screen. And later I found it is not only Mac specific. Windows notebook users do the same thing.

But by some reason all of them completely ignore screens, keyboard and mouse and just continue to use their notebook. And I didn’t get it? It is clear that you can see much more and much better on bigger screen. It is also fact that regular keyboard is more productive than any notebook keyboard. The same applies to mouse. Yet everyone ignores it. And I don’t understand why. The only one explanation I came with that they used to notebook controls and don’t want to use to better one, because later you will get used to it and it will painful to go back to smaller screen and less performance keyboard and touchpad.

But perhaps there is another explanation.
