Linus continues to suffer

This is a continuation of our story of Linus and his media empire. The story started to unfold really fast.

By that time Linus realized what he did and he messed up. So he and other corporate people released an apology video. And didn’t switch off monetization. Of course, it was probably a mistake but it still points toward a lack of attention to details even in such a critical period for the company.

And then one of the former employees starts criticizing LMG (Linus Media Group) for a hostile environment and harassment. At first, I personally didn’t take it seriously because it just looks like somebody trying to take revenge on a former employer.

When I read about her story that she had to cut her leg deeply just to have an excuse not to go to work I laughed, to be honest. If you don’t want to go to work, just don’t go. Or quit a job that requires so harsh excuses. And obviously, it is not healthy to continue to work at that company if she needs to cut her leg just to the day off.

So as a result, I didn’t take her allegations too seriously. And when I questioned one part of her story, then rest of the story became questionable too. But later another ex-employee confirmed at least part of her story. Well, technically he could lie but I didn’t see anything wrong with his story and he didn’t try to revenge LMG and just confirmed her part of the story. So now her story started to look much more credible.

After that Linus wrote that he was shocked when he heard her accusation and that they started an internal investigation and even will involve 3^rd party. But she explicitly said that she let him know about these problems and he just decide to ignore them. Again it is her words against his but at the current moment, her words look more credible. Remember he already lied about reaching an agreement with Billet Laboratory about reimbursement for the “auctioned” prototype. And I already wrote that for him it is more important to look right than to be right.

And then somebody reveal an audio recording allegedly recorded at a meeting a few days after she left the company. And in this audio, it sounds like Linus is perfectly aware of what happened, and that meeting is supposed to do something about it.

There are youtube channels that pointed to the same issues as Gamers Nexus but a few years ago. But because it was a way smaller channel, most people decided that it was just jealousy toward a much more successful channel.

There was a story about some issue a long time ago about somehow Linus fans made one person suicide because he bought something that Linus desperately want too. He rejected to sell it to Linus and his fans start to vote down all of the videos of that person and eventually, that person committed suicide.

Of course, ex-employees may just spread false information for some personal gain. Some could state that recording is fake or perhaps it was recorded at a completely different time. But I would say at this moment there are way too many coincidences.

And as stated before, Linus does not look to me like an honest man that trying to fix issues. To me, he looks more and more like a greedy person that trying to earn as much money as possible. And when somebody caught him, he just will work on damage control. And to me, it looks like damage control backfired.

Should you continue to watch videos from LMG? It is up to you. I personally decided not to. I think it is much better to bring my ads money to somebody who is more honest. Somebody who does honest work because they think that it is right and not who does it only for money and to keep subscribers.
